Water Absorption Capacity and Visual Qualities of Pulverised Glass as a Component for Glass Ceramic Glazes

Defects of glass-ceramic-glazes have hindered their production and use in ceramic art practice. We assumed the defects are low water absorption induced. This paper consequently studied different types glass for glaze with aim examining capacity, resistance to flow, dispersion behavior visual qualities determine suitable derivation. Eight glass, usually available as cullet refuse dumps, were used. The samples carefully cleaned, hammer-milled, pulverized, sieved, subjected dry-based test, elementally analysed through Particle Induce X-ray Emission technique milled into four batches. batches applied on two groups 32 tiles one group fired at 950oC other 1100oC. Findings showed that characteristically similar but varying capacity from 22.5% 32.5% higher better melting glazes. Since usage will result cleaner safer environment, glass-derived glazes comparatively melt a temperature than types, its should be developed using high capacity.
